Marty's Big Points Win!

In my last post, I told you about my friend Marty who wanted to get into the points-and-miles game to go to Europe this fall.  She signed up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card which has a welcome bonus of 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 month of having the card.

Well, she hit the mark in just over a month.  Chase informed her the points would be placed in her account on or after May 9th.

Now for the cool part.

On April 20th, 2023, Chase increased its sign-up bonus by 20,000 points.  So for a $4,000 spend, you'd get 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points.  Again, that offer began on April 20th.  Marty signed up for the card in March.  I had her call the bank to ask if she could be considered for the 80,000 offer since she had just signed up, was a loyal Chase customer for years and has an excellent credit score of 835. The first customer service rep declined to give her the offer, so we tried the HUCA method -- Hang Up, Call Again.  We did, and the next rep was so nice.  She put in a request for reconsideration of the elevated offer.  We waited a week and didn't hear anything.

Last week, we called to follow up and found out Chase had reconsidered and granted her the extra 20,000 Ultimate Rewards points!  So now with her spend, we have more than enough points to cover her trip to Europe -- plus we can save even more with 25% transfer bonus  to Air France currently offered by Chase!

So now with the big win, I want Marty to score even more points.  I'm suggesting to her to get her husband to sign up for the Preferred card in a Chase Bank branch where he can score 90,000 points on a $6,000 spend in 6 months.  This is known as Player 1-Player 2 mode.  Combined, they would have over 170,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to spend on their travels!

I can do this for you too!  Reach out to me at globalistguru@protonmail.com or any of my social media handles for a consultation.  A study by the travel firm Hopper published in Forbes magazine revealed international airfares are skyrocketing between 40-60% this year.  Points and miles will greatly reduce your cost burden -- if you play the game the right way.  Contact me and I will do my best to ease that burden.

Safe travels!
